There are three great zoos available in North Dakota.
The Dakota Zoo, located in Bismarck, is the largest zoo in North Dakota and has a large variety of animals. Some of the species in the zoo are monkeys, moose, various birds, bison, llamas and brown bears. Admission to the Dakota Zoo is $5.50 for adults and $2.75 for children. The Dakota Zoo is open from late April to late September and is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Wahpeton is home to the Chahinkapa Park and Zoo, which is home to 200 animals from six continents. Siberian tigers, kangaroos, otters, snow leopards, monkeys, and many other species call this park home. Admission to the Chahinkapa Park and Zoo is $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for children ages 6 through 12. The zoo is open in May from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., June and August from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and September from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The Roosevelt Park Zoo, located in Minot, is also home to more than 200 animals, including mammal, bird and reptile species. There is a children’s zoo, education center, gift shop and Discovery Gallery also located inside the zoo. Admission to the Roosevelt Park Zoo is $5.50 for ages 13 and over, $2.75 for children ages 5-12 and free for children under 5 years old. The zoo is open from April to September. Hours in April, May and September are daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and hours June through August are 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
