The Jamestown Civic Center houses the North Dakota Sports Hall of Fame. It was built in memory of Olympiad Cliff Cushman, North Dakota’s athlete of the year in 1960. The North Dakota Hall of Fame focuses on honoring individuals whom play prominent roles in the development of athletics throughout the state.
It also honors those who have made tremendous impacts in sports. There is much memorabilia throughout the hall given as gifts from inductees such as inductee Virgil “Quicksilver” Hill. After winning the Olympic Silver Medal in 1984, the three time world champion from Grand Forks North Dakota donated his boxing gloves to the center.
